Description du programme
Malgré les échecs Rolf suit son intuition, au plus grand dam de son ex-femme Maria. Alors que tout semble perdu, le trafic d'enfants ne cesse de s'étendre, faisant chaque fois plus de victimes...
On his way back to Denmark, Rolf receives a phone call from Maria, furious that he once again let his mad hopes get the better of them. But though the kid in France wasn’t Andrea, Rolf is sure there is something more to it – everything points towards wider baby trafficking… Maria hangs up on him.
In Denmark, Neel meets Bror in front of the foster parent’s home, packing his car. Bror is acting weird as Neel tells him that the police believe that Melanie has been involved in baby trafficking. She becomes suspicious, but Bror lures her into the family's barn – where she is attacked by Myhre, who has been hiding there! He points at Neel with a hunting rifle and ties her up inside the barn.
Nudged by Neel, Myhre tells the story of how Victoria died. According to him, he didn’t mean for her to die, as they were close and knew each other since childhood. Neel tries to get Myhre to switch side by convincing him that Bror is using him and is about to leave without him. Myhre is scared of being left behind, and as it turns out Bror actually is going to leave him, he runs after the car.
Meanwhile, Rolf finds out that Bror is the connection between Myhre and the girls, through his work as a social worker. He begins to worry, as he can’t get a hold of Neel, and drives to Bror’s home as fast as he can. Near the house, he confronts Bror attempting to leave in his car, but just then Myhre comes running like a wounded animal, pointing his rifle at them. The situation escalates and before Rolf is able to take control, Myhre shoots Bror through the front window of his car as Bror tries to run him over to escape. Myhre is hospitalized, Bror dies before the ambulance gets there.
In CID, Rolf, Neel and Oxvig get to the understanding that Bror and his wife have been taking advantage of the vulnerable foster girls they have had, using them to take part in systematic baby laundering.
Interrogating Melanie, they learn that she was the one who persuaded Victoria to take part in the trafficking, believing they did the children a favor and gave them a better home – something she and the other abused girls could relate to. According to Melanie, all the babies were Polish orphans – except Minna. The only time she experienced something abnormal was when a Polish woman accused her of stealing her daughter. But Melanie is pretty sure the woman got her daughter back, and that it was a mistake. Suddenly it all makes sense to Rolf: they kidnapped Minna because the Polish woman wanted her child back, and they suddenly needed a child to deliver to the French couple! The only thing he doesn't understand is how a Danish social worker and his sidekick could organise it all... How did they get in contact with a Catholic convent? How did they source clients?
Oxvig is worried. She suspects that Rolf is still looking for his daughter, and tries to get him to give up. But Rolf has no intention of giving up – if they took a Danish girl once, they could have done it twice.
Rolf goes back to Poland. Officer Karol has found a girl, legally adopted, who fits the description of Minna. As she enters the family’s home there is no doubt: the little girl with the heart-shaped birthmark looks exactly like Minna! As the family heartbreakingly realise they may not keep the daughter they genuinely adopted, Rolf is overwhelmed with emotions.

Five years earlier in Poland, Julita escapes the convent and decides to seek the Danish couple that took her baby. At the gas station close to the convent, she spots Myhre with Minna! She realizes he has stolen one more child and follows him by car towards the convent. Here he and Melanie drop off Minna and return in the direction of the ferry to Denmark. Julita follows all the way to Melanie's home, determined to find out where her daughter is. Here she assaults Melanie, who tells her that the baby was taken by a social worker from Civil Service who they cooperate with, Novak, as she was sick. Julita tracks down Eva Novak, but she rushes out before Julita can get a hold of her…

In Denmark, Neel has just realized that all cases with the Polish babies were processed by the same social worker at the Civil Service department in Copenhagen, 150 km away from the foster parent’s home. Just then, she finds out that the social worker is Eva Novak – Thybo’s wife! Rolf is at his friends’ when he sees his a police squad storm the house, arresting both Thybo and Eva. Neel holds back Rolf while he painfully yells after his only friend.
