Description du programme
Rolf, Claire and Karol enter the convent, but the abbess denies knowing anything about the babies being giving up for adoption illegally, or about Victoria's death. Rolf and Claire are suspicious… When they see a nun burning records and the abbess denies them a full search of the convent, they know something is up. Out of the flames, Rolf discreetly pulls an old record book and takes it before they are forced out.
Back in Denmark, Neel has traced the license plate from the video to a car belonging to Oliver Myhre (28). A Police team drives directly to his home to arrest him, but Myhre escapes and Neel takes chase, before Myhre assaults her and runs off. After this missed opportunity to arrest their main suspect, Rolf, Thybo, Clarie and Neel search his apartment, but other traces are gone. To Rolf, it seems like Myhre was prepared that they would come… just like the nuns in Poland.
He shares his feelings with Neel and Claire. It was strange that the nuns started burning pieces of evidence just as they arrived… But the records he saved from the fire bring a connection with the child Julita had reported stolen, as well as, crucially to the company “Bliss” that Moreau and Fabien used to obtain surrogacy. Bliss is connected to the convent via a French fertility clinic, which used them as proxy to pay the convent a lot of money five years prior. Though they now have a direct link between the convent, Bliss and suspected baby trafficking, they still can’t search the place due to the Church’s local reach. With frustration growing, Claire criticizes Rolf for not focusing on the case – she is afraid he is still mixing it up their investigation with his unprocessed own loss.
Leaving Neel in Denmark, Claire and Rolf go to Paris to interrogate the owners of the fertility clinic that gave money to the convent. The owners turn out to be a well-connected couple, known to the public for their advocacy and work. Everything, therefore, needs to be handled very carefully. At the clinic near Lille, the couple initially denies knowing about Bliss or the convent, but faced with the evidence, but Claire decides to bring them in for an interrogation anyway. However, before she leaves the clinic, her worst fears come true… Rolf sees the blonde, 5-year-old daughter of the two dark-haired adults and he instantly thinks she looks like Andrea, illegally grabbing a DNA sample from her. He can't help but tell Maria as they speak – maybe there is a hope, maybe this actually is their daughter! When she finds out, Claire is furious at Rolf. She knew he couldn’t handle it, and now she has to deal with the fall-out. We realise later she reports Rolf to remove him from their joint investigation.
Neel interrogates Victoria’s older sister Melanie, who seems to recognise their suspect, Myhre, yet denies having met him. Just then, Neel and Thybo are informed that the 23-year-old Melanie has had five children… All of them born in Poland, all of them with French fathers… Every time, she conveniently gave up custody. Neel is speechless. Melanie introduced Victoria to the trafficking of Polish babies! She runs out but fails to get a hold on Rolf. As she leaves the room, Thybo makes a phone call. He warns someone that they have a problem…
In France, the Lille couple freely admits that the girl is not entirely their own, though they wish to keep the fact private. She was born to a surrogate mother in London (legally) and is therefore not Rolf's daughter. Rolf is dejected, and having raised Maria’s hopes, now has to let her down again. But just as he is about to leave, the French mother breaks into tears. She tells the story of how they paid Bliss to get them a surrogate mother before the British surrogacy went through, just like Moreau... But the delivery dragged out and Bliss told them that the baby needed treatment. Long after, a child finally arrived, but things weren’t right: the child looked nothing like them and was not a newborn, and so they refused to take her. She had dark skin and a heart-shaped birthmark… Rolf and Claire exchange a look. Minna!

Determined to track her daughter, Julita manages to sneak inside the convent by pretending to be a nun from Mandorla. She gets to look after the children and learn that they are to be given up for adoption. Not long after her arrival, she discovers that her daughter is amongst the infants! But just as she is about to take her and leave, she is revealed and assaulted by the nuns. They lock her up, and from the window she cries, while watching her daughter being picked up and taken away by what seems to be a young, Danish couple – Melanie and Myhre…
