Description du programme
Un témoin de l'enlèvement de Minna est retrouvée. Contre toute attente, sa déclaration semble innocenter le principal suspect, Zaid...
Rolf, Claire and Karol hurry to the address belonging to the mysterious Sabina. She is shocked as the police storm her apartment, but quickly understands why they are there – five years later than expected! As suspected, she was the witness who called the police after having seen Minna near her home, and as the Danish police never arrived, she tried to call Minna’s mother herself to show her a video she took of the perpetrator. Sabina has never met Zaid or anyone from his family – in fact her video shows that the abductor was Caucasian, not North African.
Rolf and Claire immediately know this is a significant point. Sabina’s video confirms that Zaid was innocent of the abduction of his daughter. Rolf has been right all along... But this evidence comes five years too late, and the trail for both Claire and Rolf is well and truly cold.
However, back in Denmark, Neel manages to identify the victim of the French murder case: a Danish teenager, Victoria, has been missing for a week and has the same tattoos as the victim in France. With the Polish trail cold, Claire, Rolf and Neel head to the home of the girl's foster parents, Bror and Vibeke. They learn that Victoria and her sister have been living there since they were removed from their biological parents. Their father sexually abused them, and earned money on allowing other men to do the same.
While officially helping Claire’s case, Rolf discretely asks Thybo to check the symbol with the cross from the car stolen on the day of Andrea's disappearing. Thybo doesn’t have an answer to what it is but agrees to look into it. Claire begins to have doubts about her Danish partner and asks Neel why Rolf was pulled off the Minna case back then. She learns about his daughter's disappearance, and begins to connect the dots. She silently worries that Rolf can't focus exclusively on the case they are supposed to investigate, knowing that with the trail being in Denmark, she can’t bring closure to her case without his help.
Neel again proves a more focused ally than Rolf: from checking the data on Victoria's phone, she learns that she was driven all the way to Paris, where she stayed in an apartment for several hours, where she could have been killed. Rolf and Claire immediately head to France to check out the place. In the building they meet a Frenchman, Moreau, in his 50’s, who denies knowing Victoria. But when a police dog is brought in to search for tracks of Victoria there is no doubt that she was there. Just as they are about to arrest Moreau for questioning, another man comes into the apartment, a baby crying in his arms...
